Connor Drake began serving in TUSD as assistant principal of Hicks Canyon Elementary in 2023 and is honored to now be serving as principal of Heritage Elementary. Mr. Drake brings a broad spectrum of educational leadership experience across multiple grade spans. After starting in education as an AP and IB Chemistry/Physics teacher, Mr. Drake later served as a high school administrator, a TK-8 school site administrator, and as a district administrator of curriculum and instruction. This diverse leadership experience provides a unique lens on how to support learning, behavior expectations, campus culture, and safety of students and staff. Mr. Drake is excited to bring his STEAM background to Heritage and collaborate with our amazing teachers on STEAM and PBL classroom projects. Ever a lifelong learner, Mr. Drake is currently working towards a doctoral degree in educational leadership with a focus on executive leadership..

Throughout his career, Mr. Drake has remained passionate about fostering inclusive environments where every student feels valued and heard. He believes in setting high expectations academically, behaviorally, and socially while collaborating to support each student. Building relationships with students, teachers, staff, and parents is at the core of Mr. Drake’s leadership philosophy, so our Aviator community can expect to see Mr. Drake out around campus, in classrooms, and at school events. 

Mr. Drake is looking forward to partnering with our parents and staff and investing in our Aviator students to help them learn and grow into scholars who S.O.A.R.!
